The NCAA is seeking institutional assistance as part of a review of current issues related to cancellation of SAT or ACT test scores used for NCAA initial eligibility purposes. Any National Association for Athletics Compliance members who have had recent experience relative to test cancellations (within the last 5 academic years) may provide the following information in order to identify various campus perspectives in this area: · Number of prospective student-athletes with at least one test cancellation or notice of test cancellation during the last five years. Please indicate the number of recruited prospective student-athletes vs. nonrecruited, as well as any additional demographic information (sport, male vs. female, home state) that your institution is willing to designate in order to provide context. · Method by which the institutional compliance office was notified that a test score was under review and/or cancelled. · When was the notice noted above received and when did the institutional compliance office become aware of a potential test score issue? · A brief description of the institution’s internal investigative process when test score cancellation or notice of test inquiry arises. · Number of prospective student-athletes that attempted to verify his or her test score through a retake process, including number of successful verifications. · A brief description of the prospective student-athlete and institutional overall experience with the process.
